Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT (CT) certification and at least 2 years of experience, for a night shift weekend position at a high-volume, stroke-accredited facility in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Details

• Acute care hospital CT department serving one of the busiest ERs in Iowa
• Stroke center-accredited facility with high volume of brain perfusion exams
• Equipment includes a Toshiba Aquilion One 640-slice and a Siemens 128 Definition AS CT scanner
• Department averages 80–90 cases per 24-hour period
• EMR is Epic; PACS is McKesson; facility also uses Clario and RapidAI software for ICH
• Night shift schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend coverage is as scheduled

Requirements

• Active ARRT (CT) certification required
• Minimum of 24 months of CT experience in a clinic or hospital setting required
• Active IA radiology license required if applicable
• Experience with Toshiba Aquilion One 640-slice CT required
• Experience with Siemens 128 Definition AS CT required
• Active AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Perform a high volume of CT exams including brain perfusion studies using RapidAI software for ICH detection
• Patient transporters are available to bring patients to CT; CT techs assist with transport when needed
• CT department is staffed with 5 techs on day shift; night shift drops to 1 tech after midnight
• X-ray techs are co-located across the hallway on night shift; occasional informal collaboration may occur, though cross-training in X-ray is not required
• Ultrasound is also staffed 24/7 and located nearby
• Orientation occurs during the same week prior to the first scheduled Friday shift
• Candidates who have been employed at this facility as FTE or PRN staff within the past 12 months are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a bill rate reduction
