Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position on an Ortho/Neuro unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Work on Phippen 6/7, a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surg patients, fractures, and medical overflow patients
• Night shift hours are 19:00–07:30 (7p–7:30a)
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• 36 hours per week
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 or 1:6 on nights
• Floating to applicable units is required when requested
• Telemetry monitoring is performed on unit; ability to read telemetry strips is required
• EMR: Epic (charting system used on unit)
• Timekeeping system: UKG/Kronos

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Both NURSYS and BON verification required for nursing license
• BLS certification required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
• ACLS certification preferred — AHA only
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency required, including ability to interpret telemetry strips
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide Med/Surg nursing care to orthopedic, neurological, and medical overflow patients
• Epic charting experience is strongly beneficial given its use as the primary EMR
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
• 13-week contract
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking rates range from $17–$22 daily — public transportation is recommended
