Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple children's acute care units.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatrics float pool position
- Float coverage spans multiple children's acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics
- May be floated to the NICU to care for feeder-grower, low-acuity patients only — not traditional NICU assignments
- Day shift schedule with weekend and holiday requirements
- 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or multistate compact (eNLC) RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses, and assisting with physician examinations
- Serves as first-line resource for specialized skills across the float pool
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may complete one extension for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for another contract
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — travelers must complete all onboarding requirements by the designated due date or risk cancellation
