Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a travel assignment in a large breast imaging center in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Located within a dedicated breast center, working on the 2nd floor of Mission Breast Center in Asheville, NC
• Large breast imaging center with an average of 10 technologists on site per day
• Average daily caseload of approximately 38 screening mammograms and 18 diagnostic studies
• Procedures performed include stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast-enhanced mammography
• Required to demonstrate and present complicated mammographic cases to radiologists
• Primary equipment includes the GE Senographe Pristina
• Documentation systems include Cerner and Penrad
• Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with Saturdays 8:00 AM–4:30 PM as needed
• Float to other breast centers may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
• Experience in a women's imaging center required, including sensitivity to patients with a history of cancer, lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation
• Proficiency in screening mammography, as well as advanced views such as magnification and spot compression
• Competency in invasive and sterile procedures; IV certification required
• ARRT (R) and (M) Mammography certifications required
• MQSA compliance documentation required: initial 40-hour mammography training, current continuing education, up-to-date mammography case numbers (200 cases per 2 years), 8 hours of digital mammography training, and 8 hours of digital tomosynthesis training
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• License required if applicable
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two references required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Any missing MQSA documentation will require onsite training to be completed before performing mammograms on patients
• Required dress code is a pink top with black pants
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
