Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a travel assignment at a large breast imaging center in Asheville, NC, requiring ARRT (R)(M) certification and proficiency in advanced mammography procedures.

Details

• Located within a large breast center with an average of 10 technologists on site per day
• Average daily caseload of approximately 38 screening mammograms and 18 diagnostic mammograms
• Procedures include stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast enhanced mammography
• Equipment used includes the GE Senographe Pristina
• Documentation systems include Cerner and Penrad
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday coverage (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) as needed
• Floating to other breast centers may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
• Current ARRT (R) and (M) Mammography certification required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Per MQSA standards: must have documentation of initial 40 hours of mammography training, current mammography continuing education, up-to-date case numbers (200 cases per 2 years), 8 hours of digital mammography training, and 8 hours of digital tomosynthesis training
• IV certification required
• Competency in invasive and sterile procedures required
• Proficiency in screening mammograms and advanced imaging views such as magnification and spot compression required
• Experience in women's imaging, including working with patients who have a history of cancer and related treatments such as lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation
• License required if applicable
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• Must demonstrate full confidence and competency in presenting complicated mammographic cases to radiologists
• Any missing MQSA training documentation will require completion of on-site training before performing mammograms on patients
• Required dress code is a pink top with black pants
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
