Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a radiology ultrasound unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience and strong vascular scanning skills including carotids, extremity studies, and invasive exam assistance.

Details

Located in an 870-bed acute care hospital in Asheville, NC
Assignment is in the Radiology Ultrasound department
Caseload is heavily vascular-focused, with 50% or more vascular scans alongside general, pediatric, ED, and OR ultrasound
Procedures include general sonography, carotid studies, venous and arterial upper/lower extremity studies, vascular abdomen, renal artery, vein mapping, and AV fistula/graft evaluations
Equipment includes GE Logiq E9, Logiq E10, Dophin TCD Machine, and Parks-ABI machine
Documentation systems: Cerner and PACS
12-hour day shifts, Thursday through Saturday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
May be floated to IR or ER as needed

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
ARDMS certification required; RVT or RVS preferred
Strong vascular sonography skills required, including carotids, extremity venous/arterial studies, and vascular abdomen
Well-rounded sonography skills across general, pediatric, ED, and OR imaging required
Proficiency with Cerner and PACS preferred
US SSN and DOB required for consideration
One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
License required if applicable

Additional Information

Performs a high volume of vascular scans in addition to general, pediatric, ED, and OR ultrasound exams, and assists with invasive procedures
Weekend staffing team includes 3 day sonographers, 1 mid-shift, and 2 third-shift sonographers
Black scrubs required
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
