Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 2 trauma facility in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and AHA BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 12-room OR at a 225-bed specialty care hospital serving as the region's premier surgical center in Marquette, MI
• Level 2 trauma center that also receives Level 1 trauma patients
• Patient population is primarily geriatric and adult; pediatric cases are rare
• Surgical specialties include general, urology, GYN, neuro, ortho (total joints, sports medicine, trauma, podiatry), ENT, vascular, and robotic surgery
• Preferred experience includes CV, C-section, trauma, and plastics
• 1:1 patient ratio in the OR
• Shifts are 10- or 12-hour days starting at 6:45 AM or 9:00 AM
• On-call requirement includes one or two weekends every 6 weeks (12-hour call blocks) and one weeknight every other week; 30-minute response time required
• Holiday on-call is based on department need; candidates should not be required to cover more than one holiday per 13-week contract
• No floating required
• EMR: Cerner
• Hospital-provided scrubs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Experience with general, urology, GYN, neuro, ortho, ENT, vascular, and robotic surgery required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time

• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Block schedules cannot be guaranteed
• The facility is located in the central region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the largest community in the peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University
