Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) Stepdown position requiring Cerner experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience, working night shifts in Hickory, NC.

Details

• Work on the Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), located on the 5th floor of a 355-bed Duke LifePoint hospital
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery, telemetry, and general medical diagnoses
• Specialties encountered include neuro medical strokes, neuro-ortho surgeries, overflow telemetry, and medical patients
• 20-bed unit using Cerner EHR (experience required)
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to Medical, Telemetry, and Neon units may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• AHA certifications required (BLS at minimum; bring applicable AHA cards)
• Cerner EHR experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Holiday coverage is expected as assigned
