Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Oncology unit position requiring ONS/ONCC certification and night shift availability.
Details
- Work is performed in the Surgical Oncology unit of an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with self-scheduling (SD) and mandatory scheduling (MS) required
- 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- ONS or ONCC certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
- Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans and discharge information with patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN is preferred but not required
- Previous travelers who have completed a 26-week total assignment (including any extension) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract at this facility
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
