Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Oncology unit position requiring ONS/ONCC certification and night shift availability.

Details

• Work is performed in the Surgical Oncology unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with self-scheduling (SD) and mandatory scheduling (MS) required
• 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• ONS or ONCC certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge information with patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Previous travelers who have completed a 26-week total assignment (including any extension) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract at this facility
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
