Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro-ICU position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.
Details
- 16-bed Neuro-ICU unit located on the 2nd floor of a hospital in Nashville, TN
- Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with 1:1 or 3:1 possible depending on acuity and staffing
- Equipment used includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV1000
- Documentation system is Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule block
- Self-scheduling is available to an extent, with the manager adjusting shifts to balance the schedule
- Contract staff are first to float; floating to med/surg is expected if staffing needs require it
- Unit secretary is available during day shift only; occasional nurse extern may work as a tech
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if the candidate is from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertion, arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
- Navy scrub tops and bottoms are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- 13-week travel contract
