Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for an inpatient and outpatient mix caseload, requiring prior travel assignment experience and a current New Mexico PT license.
Details
- Work setting includes inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care
- Outpatient and acute care mix caseload
- Pediatric PT role includes treating patients from birth to 18 years old across inpatient and inpatient emergency department settings; floating to adult units may be required if pediatric census fluctuates
- Schedule is 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with 1 weekend (Saturday–Sunday) per month as scheduled; hours are adjusted to maintain 40 hours that week
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used; on-site training available
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in specialty required
- Inpatient and outpatient PT experience required
- At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
- At least 1 year of pediatric PT experience required if working in a pediatric role
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
- Current New Mexico PT license required; license required if applicable
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) required
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients with a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders
- Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the full patient lifespan
- Coordinates care with multidisciplinary teams and communicates across services involved in patient care
- Oversees comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being
- Pediatric PT responsibilities include evaluating and treating infants, children, and adolescents for motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, and related conditions
- Former permanent staff of this facility must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- New graduate PTs may be considered based on skills and confidence level
- Pediatric PT experience is preferred but not required for non-pediatric roles
