Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Medical unit position requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatric medical unit setting
- Cares for a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Day shift schedule working 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans both during hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, and all medical requirements) must be initiated promptly after acceptance — the facility enforces strict compliance deadlines with no exceptions
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks (one extension), after which a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for another contract
