Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring at least one year of ED experience, Level 1 trauma background, and AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Adult Emergency Department (ED) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Trauma experience required; Level 1 trauma center experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of ED nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and coordinating nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Previous travelers or workers at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a subsequent contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer
• BSN from a Board-approved program is preferred
