Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at an acute care teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and proficiency with vasoactive drips, BiPAP, and post-surgical cardiac patients.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital (Level 3 Trauma, 317 staffed beds) in a Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient population includes post-cardiovascular procedure patients: post-CABG, valve replacement, Watchman, TAVR, CHF, DKA/HHS, thoracotomy, cardio-renal syndrome, respiratory failure, and arrhythmias
• Competency required with chest tubes, BiPAP, CPAP, AVAPS, heated high flow, and temporary pacers
• Proficiency with vasoactive IV drips, insulin/Endotool drips, and post-op CABG/valve replacement/thoracotomy care expected
• Charting via Epic (Excellian)
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900–0730
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals required
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac/telemetry or PCU specialty experience required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Nursys or state board of nursing license verification required

• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• Navy scrubs are required
• RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days for the duration of the contract
