Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray/CT) with ARRT certification, Illinois IEMA licensure, and Epic EMR experience for a Monday–Friday day shift position at a Level 1 Trauma facility.

Details

• Outpatient or hospital-based radiology department performing general X-ray and CT imaging
• Procedures include general radiographic exams, CT with IV/oral/rectal contrast administration, and venipuncture for contrast delivery
• Uses PACS, RIS, and Epic EMR for imaging, reporting, scheduling, billing, and coding
• Monday–Friday day shifts, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• May be required to cross-train and perform duties in other imaging modalities within the department per licensure held

Requirements

• ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Illinois IEMA Radiography License required (license required if applicable)
• Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Rad Tech experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures with independent judgment

Additional Information

• Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with accrediting body and manufacturer guidelines, including patient positioning, technical factor selection, and image quality critique
• Screens patients for pregnancy, reviews labs and patient history, and administers contrast materials as appropriate, monitoring for adverse or allergic reactions
• Collaborates with radiologists for case review and ensures radiology orders are complete, accurate, and medically necessary
• Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides clinical history for radiologist interpretation, including after-hours preliminary reads via web servers
• Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment, supply inventories, and orderliness of the work area, and reporting malfunctions promptly
• May assume Lead Rad Tech or Imaging Coordinator duties in their absence
• Assists in training and orienting new staff and students as needed
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment for 1 year at this health system must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
