Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (Ortho & Neuro) position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications, with Epic experience required.

Details

• Work in a 35-bed Medical/Surgical unit with an Orthopedic and Neuro patient population
• Day shift position with a 36- or 48-hour weekly schedule option
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Telemetry is monitored through a centralized telemetry unit
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Charting performed in Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required within the last 6 months
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse who floats across all departments
• A free-floating charge nurse is available on the unit
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable, but logos are not permitted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
