Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (Ortho & Neuro) position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications, with Epic experience required.
Details
- Work in a 35-bed Medical/Surgical unit with an Orthopedic and Neuro patient population
- Day shift position with a 36- or 48-hour weekly schedule option
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Telemetry is monitored through a centralized telemetry unit
- Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
- Charting performed in Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required within the last 6 months
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse who floats across all departments
- A free-floating charge nurse is available on the unit
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable, but logos are not permitted
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
