Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for a travel contract at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring advanced cardiac device experience including LVAD/RVAD/Impella and PA catheter interpretation.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
  • 672-bed Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma, academic teaching facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within the ICU community, including CVICU, Med/Surg ICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Charting in Epic/Excellian (experience required)
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Parking available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
  • PA catheter interpretation and analysis required
  • Experience with LVAD, RVAD, and Impella required
  • Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) required
  • Experience with CRRT required
  • Experience with ventilator management required
  • Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheters required
  • Open heart recovery direct from OR strongly preferred
  • Experience with CRRT via Prismaflex and ECMO preferred
  • Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

  • Specialized equipment used includes: Temporary pacemakers, Targeted Temperature Management, Prisma Flex, Endotool for glucose monitoring, bedside trachs and PEGs, Heart Mate 2 & 3, CentriMag, and Balloon Pump
  • Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the first day of work
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible
  • RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred for this assignment
