Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience, advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills, and an active MN RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Magnet-designated, teaching facility, Level III Trauma Center with 672 staffed beds
- CVICU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Patient population includes post-open heart surgery recovery, patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, and complex hemodynamic management
- Procedures and equipment include PA catheter interpretation, LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP, CRRT with Prismaflex, ECMO, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, targeted temperature management, bedside trachs and PEGs, Endotool glucose monitoring, temporary pacemakers, Heart Mate 2 & 3, CentriMag, and balloon pump
- Charting in Epic/Excellian — experience required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the ICU community, including CVICU, Med/Surg ICU, and Neuro ICU
- No on-call required
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- PA catheter interpretation and analysis required
- Experience with LVAD/RVAD/Impella and IABP required
- CRRT experience required
- Open heart recovery direct from OR strongly preferred
- CRRT with Prismaflex and ECMO experience preferred
- Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been gone for at least 3 months since their last shift to be eligible
- Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
- RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days for the duration of the contract
- Scrub color: Navy blue

Schedule is five 8s. Nice people but not a super cohesive team nurse/tech wise. Not in a great neighborhood at all
