Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a high-acuity heart transplant center, requiring ACLS and Epic experience for night shift work.

Details

• CVICU at a high-acuity heart transplant center specializing in cardiology critical care
• Patient diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, post cardiac arrest, TAVR, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary embolism
• Specialized procedures include pericardial drains/windows, targeted temperature management, and pacemaker placement
• Special equipment includes PA catheters, IABP, Impella, transvenous pacemakers, CRRT, EKOS catheters, and CADD pumps for Remodulin infusion
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float requirement to ICUs and SDUs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15), with occasional opportunity to pick up a 4th shift
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• CVICU or cardiology critical care nursing experience required
• Experience with specialized cardiac equipment (PA catheters, IABP, Impella, CRRT, etc.) strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign you to an Emergency Team with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team during emergency events
• Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be discussed during the interview process
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
