Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of mammography experience, ARRT registration, and advanced mammography certification for a full-time travel assignment.

Details

• Outpatient mammography department setting
• Procedures include standard diagnostic mammography as well as advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Saturday
• 40 hours per week, full-time

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in mammography
• ARRT registration required
• Active Rad Tech license in the state of practice required; license required if applicable
• Advanced Mammography Certification (ARRT) required
• Must meet and maintain ACR FDA/MQSA mammography-specific requirements
• Current AHA BLS certification required (must not expire prior to assignment start)
• HS Diploma or GED required
• English proficiency (speak, read, write) required
• Must be able to lift, stand, walk, push/pull, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• A personal radiation monitoring dosimeter (badge) is required for this assignment

Additional Information

• Performs radiologic mammography exams per department protocol, including advanced procedures, while exercising independent judgment
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation prior to each exam
• Operates mammographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images using appropriate techniques and radiation protection practices
• Educates patients on breast self-examination through answering questions and providing written materials
• Maintains accurate documentation including time stamps, image storage, and records required by JCAHO and applicable state regulations
• Complies with all ALARA radiation protection program requirements
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from any facility in this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
