Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / Neuro IR Scrub Technologist with 2+ years of CVT, RN, or RT(R) experience and proficiency in neuro interventions for a Level I trauma center.

Details

  • Acute care Level I trauma hospital setting in a Cardiac Cath Lab / Neuro IR unit
  • 8 cath lab rooms plus 1 dedicated procedure room
  • Primary focus on neuro angiograms and interventions; cardiac and peripheral vascular cases also performed
  • Core neuro procedures include thrombectomy (stroke), coilings, carotid stents, Pipeline embolization device, EVD placement, spinal angiogram, lumbar puncture/drain, diagnostic cerebral angiogram, MMA/AVM/fistula embolization, rhizotomy, and epistaxis embolization
  • Preferred experience with cardiac procedures including left/right heart caths, PCI (rotablader, shockwave), pericardiocentesis, IABP/Impella insertion/removal, peripheral vascular, EP device implants (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders), PFO/ASD closure, and EP ablations
  • EMR system is Epic; additional systems include Radiant, CUPID, and GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Call rotation includes 1 night of call per week and every 3rd to 4th weekend
  • Call team is a 3-person team — candidates will not work alone on call
  • No floating to other units or departments

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a CVT, RN, or RT(R) role
  • RCIS or ARRT required; RN licensure accepted if applicable
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Proficiency in neuro interventions including thrombectomy, coilings, embolizations, and stents
  • Proficiency in sterile technique and scrubbing the listed procedures
  • NDMIRT license required — candidates must hold or be willing to apply within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
  • License required if applicable
  • 2 current professional references required for consideration — 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years
  • Certifications must be active at time of consideration; no pending certifications accepted

Additional Information

  • Primary role is scrub technologist for neuro angiographic and interventional procedures
  • Cardiac, peripheral vascular, and EP/structural heart cases may also be assigned based on candidate experience
  • Orientation is 1–2 days with an assigned mentor, tailored to the candidate's level of experience
  • Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a adjusted pay rate
