Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Antepartum unit position in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring active ACLS, BLS, NRP, and IFM certifications with at least 1 year of recent experience.
Details
- Antepartum unit (APU) located on the 2nd floor (2 East) of the main building in a hospital setting
- 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 3-4 patients per RN
- Day shift staffing typically includes 2 RNs and 1 NE when available; night shift includes 2 RNs
- Procedures include routine assessments, fetal monitoring, vital signs, and finger sticks
- Equipment used includes Baxter IV Pumps and GE Fetal Monitoring
- EMR systems used are CPN and Meditech; experience with these systems is preferred
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule period
- Floating may be required to L&D (to care for APU patients) and Postpartum (to care for postpartum patients only)
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN IFM or NCCEFM)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Antepartum or relevant RN experience required
- L&D experience is preferred
- CPN and Meditech EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Professional reference required (2 references required if candidate is from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Best fit candidates are described as outgoing, eager, and confident
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 1 year of recent specialty experience is required
