Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Charge Nurse role in a General Surgery unit, requiring a CO or Compact RN license and at least one year of surgical nursing experience.

Details

General Surgery inpatient unit in a hospital setting
12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
Weekend schedule covering Saturday through Monday; Saturday and Sunday only scheduling may be accommodated
Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

Active CO or Compact RN license required (no pending licenses)
BSN from an accredited institution required (degree will be verified)
Current AHA BLS certification required; must not expire prior to assignment start
Additional unit-specific certifications (e.g., ACLS) required per unit standards; all certifications must be AHA-issued
Minimum 1 year of General Surgery nursing experience required
Prior charge nurse or leadership/mentoring experience required
Proficiency in Epic EMR
DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

Charge Nurse responsibilities include operational and clinical leadership of the unit, staffing coordination, delegation, and holding staff accountable to outcomes and behavioral standards
Mediates conflict between staff, families, physicians, and other departments and serves as a resource for communication and rounding best practices
Participates in and facilitates continuous quality improvement in clinical care, service experience, and operational effectiveness
Completion of Charge Nurse training required upon start
Former permanent Intermountain employees must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
