Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
• Unit 6B - Surgery Trauma in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, including gunshot wounds, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on nights
• ED nurse and admitting unit complete a nurse handoff on admission
• Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR required

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma nursing experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced trauma situations required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

• This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and high-volume trauma cases
• No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during this assignment
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
