Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring strong Neuro/Ortho experience and at least 2 years of recent OR RN experience in a large acute care hospital.

Details

  • Large acute care hospital setting with 25 OR suites performing 75–100 cases per day
  • Level I Trauma Center with a full range of surgical specialties including General, GYN, Urology, Neuro, and Ortho
  • Role functions as a circulating nurse with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Shift is Monday–Thursday nights, 8:30 PM–6:30 AM (10-hour shifts)
  • On-call required 1–2 days per week and every 3–4 weekends
  • Occasional floating to a sister campus may be required (rare)
  • EMR: Epic (Accudose also utilized)
  • Equipment includes cautery, lasers, laparoscopic, arthroscopy, and Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active ND or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience
  • Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level I Trauma designation
  • Experience in a facility with 15 or more OR suites — outpatient/ambulatory center experience does not qualify
  • Strong Neuro and Ortho surgical experience required; must also be comfortable in General OR cases
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgery; DaVinci experience preferred
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one peer or supervisor reference from a relevant specialty within the last 3 years
  • Certifications must be active and in hand at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted
  • Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Circulating RN responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning, intraoperative documentation, and OR equipment setup
  • Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
  • Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced travel pay rate
  • Facility-provided scrubs in Ceil Blue are required
  • A manager interview will be conducted prior to any offer being extended
  • Orientation is 8 hours
