Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel contract, requiring a minimum of 3 years of Level 3 or 4 ICN experience and ventilator proficiency.

Details

  • Level 3 or 4 Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) setting
  • Patient population includes premature infants (as early as 22 weeks gestational age), all types of surgical infants, and infants with hypoxic injury
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–4
  • Special procedures include Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC line management, PCLs, Broviac, Trachs, GTTs, and Ostomies
  • Equipment includes Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion for feedings, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, and Giraffe warmers
  • EMR: Epic (also uses Pyxis, SBAR, and 4P)
  • 12-hour night shifts, 18:45–07:15, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend requirement: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floating may be required to Peds, PICU, or Nursery for patients up to 12 months of age
  • Self-scheduling per unit needs
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
  • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 or 4 ICN
  • Ventilator experience required
  • Local candidates are accepted

Additional Information

  • 24 hours of unit orientation provided
  • Scrub color requirement: navy blue or white
  • RTO requests are not accepted after booking; any call-offs may result in contract cancellation
