Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a large academic medical institution, requiring a minimum of 2.5 years of strong ICU experience including at least one MICU travel contract.
Details
- Medical ICU (MICU) unit within a large academic hospital setting (500+ beds)
- High-acuity patient population with complex medical diagnoses including end-stage renal disease (ESRD), end-stage liver disease (ESLD), multisystem organ failure (MSOF), ARDS, DIC, sepsis, HIV, CHF, lung transplant, critically ill antepartum/postpartum patients, and critically ill oncology patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- 36 hours per week
- 3 out of every 6 weekends required per 6-week schedule
- 2 on-call availability shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating to areas of like skill set as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Critical Care Certification (e.g., CCRN) preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- Minimum 2.5 years of strong ICU experience required, with at least one travel contract in a MICU setting
- Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required; academic institution experience preferred
- Current Surgical ICU experience of at least 2 years and a minimum of 2 previous travel assignments preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
