Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of CT experience for a 13-week assignment at a 307-bed teaching hospital in Pittsfield, MA, where both CT and X-ray proficiency are required.

Details

• Radiology department at a 307-bed academic teaching hospital designated as Trauma Level III
• Position is primarily CT-focused but requires X-ray (DR/CR) experience as well
• Responsibilities include primary diagnostic radiology and CT scan tasks, including IV insertion and contrast injections
• Uses Meditech Expanse EMR (experience highly preferred) as well as PACS, HIS, and RIS systems
• 8-hour varied evening shifts, Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM–9:30 PM and/or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; must be available for either shift as needed
• Holiday coverage is required as needed
• On-call shifts are possible
• A personal vehicle is required for this assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of current CT experience required
• ARRT (CT) certification required
• Active AHA BLS required
• Massachusetts Radiology license required (if applicable)
• CT Skills Checklist current within the past year required for consideration
• 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment required for consideration
• Must be able to function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment
• Experience with PACS, HIS, RIS, CR, DR, and CT systems required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Perform a wide variety of CT and diagnostic radiology procedures requiring independent judgment and critical thinking
• May be assigned supervisory or instructional responsibilities for department personnel as directed by Lead Technologist or management
• Maintains compliance with infection control, OSHA standards, and patient confidentiality policies
• Completes annual mandatory education including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but the role demands independent, high-level proficiency
• No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted; all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of profile consideration — requests made after an offer is extended may result in a rescinded offer
