Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Rapid City, SD, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 Cath labs and 2 Hybrid peripheral/OR rooms
• Patient population includes coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, diagnostic Cath procedures, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease, Impella insertion, and LVAD insertions
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 10-hour variable shifts, 40 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend
• On-call required 1–2 days per week from 1630–0600, and every 4th weekend from 1630 Friday through 0600 Monday
• Charge nurse available Monday–Friday, 0600–1630
• No floating required
• EMR: Epic (required), Epic Cupid (preferred); Alaris and Omnicell also used

Requirements

• Active RN license in South Dakota or a Compact license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases required
• Proficiency in critical patient assessment, vasoactive and sedation drug administration, sterile technique, air management, Laser and Lithotripsy Atherectomy, and peripheral IV skills
• Experience with devices including IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered if they have extensive experience in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait a full year before returning as a traveler
• Orientation consists of 4 days of 10-hour shifts
• Holiday coverage may be required (approximately 1 holiday per assignment)
• Time off requests must be approved by the unit manager
• Procedural scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
• This is a traveler-friendly facility with a strong history of renewing travel contracts
