Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient and outpatient role requiring 1+ years of acute care PT experience, with coverage across inpatient floors and an outpatient surgery center.
Details
- 13-week contract, 40 hours per week on an 8-hour day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Split coverage: inpatient hospital floors plus 1–2 days per week at an outpatient surgery center
- Inpatient Rehab department is comprised of PT and OT, providing coverage throughout the inpatient floors of the hospital
- Patient population ranges from birth through elderly, with conditions spanning musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical diagnoses
Requirements
- Active MA PT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care PT experience required; 2+ years overall experience preferred
- Proficiency in patient handling, transfer techniques, and safe mobility practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, physicians, and case management
- Self-directed with strong time management skills and ability to multitask
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of inpatient and outpatient populations across multiple care settings and diagnoses
- Two professional references required on file — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'); references must include a performance evaluation
- One reference must be dated within the last 12 months; the second may be within the last 3 years
- At least one reference is preferred from a prior temporary or travel assignment; references from other travelers are not accepted
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate
