Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel assignment in Danville, VA, requiring 2+ years of experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 24-bed Med/Surg unit (Floor 5A) within an academic community hospital setting
• Serves a mixed patient population of all ages
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 13-week contract with day shifts (7A–7P)
• Every other weekend requirement, with additional weekend hours as needed
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• On-call requirements apply on an as-needed basis
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Handling With Care (HWC, available on-site), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — all must be in hand prior to start
• AHA-issued certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
