Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring pediatric and multi-specialty surgical recovery experience, with call responsibilities on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.

Details

• PACU unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (9:00–17:30)
• On-call responsibilities required
• Recovering patients across a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adult and pediatric), GYN, and pediatric ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.)
• All surgical specialties except cardiac/heart procedures
• Includes monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• Coverage assistance in Pre-Op is required
• Level II trauma experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license recognized in TX
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred
• Pediatric recovery experience required
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Experience recovering patients across multiple surgical specialties (ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and peds ENT) required
• Experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and A-lines required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, including testing for marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid all substances that could cause a positive result, including CBD products, prior to and upon arrival
