Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization, PCI, and vascular interventional procedures for a travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital.

Details

• Work setting includes both a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab at a 338-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Required cardiac procedures include cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablader atherectomy, and temporary pacemaker placement
• Preferred cardiac procedures include ASD closures, PA line insertion, and TAVI/TAVR
• Required vascular procedures include angioplasty and upper/lower extremity angiography; preferred procedures include carotid stenting, central venous access/port placement, and dialysis graft creation, revision, and intervention
• Required venous access procedures include central venous access (tunneled port)
• Preferred EP procedures include arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, EP evaluation, AICD insertion/programming, and pacemaker insertion
• Preferred abdominal/pelvic procedures include angioplasty, embolization, mesenteric angiogram, and stent placement
• Charting is performed in Epic; experience is required
• Fluoroscopy equipment is required; Siemens equipment experience is preferred
• 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Variable weekend coverage is required
• Some evening, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage is required
• May be required to float between sister facilities as needed for coverage

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ARRT certification required
• Experience with cardiac catheterization, PCI, atherectomy, and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures required
• Experience with PACS required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy equipment required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• MO State License required; IL candidates may be considered with a pending IL license (license required if applicable)

Additional Information

• Procedural responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, access site prep, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and scrubbing to maintain a sterile field
• Preferred skills include EKG lead placement, use of vascular closure systems (Perclose, Starclose), and familiarity with rapid response team protocols
• Isolation precautions knowledge is required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is free
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required; allied and non-clinical travelers may remain up to 12 months, followed by a 6-month break
