Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry (MS/Tele) position requiring an active MO or compact RN license and telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Work on a Medical Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit in a hospital setting
• Cares for cardiac monitoring patients including hemodynamically stable dysrhythmias, non-STEMI/unstable coronary syndrome, post-PTCA, suspected pacemaker malfunction, and observation post pacer/defibrillator placement or ablation
• Also serves pre- and post-operative patients requiring telemetry, step-down transfers, and patients with infectious diseases requiring negative airflow isolation
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR used
• Blocked scheduling may be available and can be discussed with the manager

Requirements

• Active MO state or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• IV start and telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Diltiazem and Metoprolol
• Performs routine fingerstick blood glucose monitoring
• Unit supports physician-performed procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, bone marrow aspiration, and chest tube insertion
• Capable of managing patients receiving two or more blood transfusions within a 12-hour period
• Black scrubs required
