Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry and Renal unit position requiring ACLS certification and telemetry interpretation skills.

Details

• General Med/Surg Telemetry and Renal unit in a hospital setting
• 28-bed unit with a mix of medical/surgical, telemetry, and renal patients
• Preferred experience with CAPD (continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis)
• Drip experience preferred: Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin
• Oxygen modality experience preferred: Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and standard Nasal Cannula
• Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry every 4 hours
• Charting performed in Epic (EHR training preferred)
• 12-hour PM shifts, every other weekend, every other holiday
• Phlebotomy services are available for peripheral lab draws
• Charge nurses are out of ratio on days and in ratio on nights

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or a current Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia/EKG exam (study guide provided; 2 attempts allowed on first day)
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return, Military Form No. 2058, or W2 from US government)
• Full SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• Nursys license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and with families or caregivers
• Manages patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
• Advocates for patient safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered decision-making in collaboration with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics teams
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
