Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro-ICU position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active TN or compact RN license.
Details
- 16-bed Neuro-ICU unit in a hospital setting in Nashville, TN
- Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
- Specialized equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
- Documentation is performed in Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- Self-scheduling available with manager adjustments to balance the schedule
- Travelers are first to float and may be required to float to med/surg when staffing needs arise
- Unit secretary is staffed during day shift; occasional nurse extern available as tech support
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN or compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Experience with ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and arterial/central line management
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Procedures performed on unit include insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and EVDs
- Navy scrub tops and bottoms are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members is expected
