Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro-ICU position on night shift, requiring active TN or compact RN licensure and prior ICU experience.
Details
- Work in a 16-bed Neuro-ICU/NICU unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios typically 2:1, with occasional 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
- Unit staffed with a unit secretary during dayshift and occasional nurse extern support
- Utilizes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000 equipment
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- Self-scheduling available to an extent, with manager adjustments to balance coverage
- Contract labor floats first, including to med/surg when staffing needs arise
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
- Experience with procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to critically ill neuro patients and their families
- Navy scrub uniform required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers may be considered
