Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week acute care contract covering inpatient and/or outpatient settings.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Inpatient coverage includes general inpatient, rehabilitation, and sub-acute units
• Outpatient coverage includes two off-site clinics: a freestanding ortho/sports medicine clinic approximately 20 minutes from the main facility, and a nearby clinic offering ortho, neuro, peds, and a lymphedema program
• Common inpatient diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain injuries, ortho, general medical, surgical, bariatrics, ICU, and cardiac cases; sub-acute unit includes vented and long-term patients
• Rehab unit does not use vents; sub-acute unit does include vented patients
• Charting is performed in Cerner
• 8-hour day shifts; schedule rotates Sun/Thu 9:00am–5:30pm and Mon–Wed 11:00am–7:30pm
• Weekend requirement: candidates must work either every Saturday or every Sunday
• Holiday coverage is shared with permanent staff rotation, typically one major and one minor holiday

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PT experience required
• Active state PT license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted (license required if applicable)
• Active BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
• Experience appropriate to the assigned setting (inpatient or outpatient) required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Candidates will be hired specifically for either inpatient or outpatient based on facility need at the time of hiring
• The PT/OT/Speech department does not utilize rehab aides, OTAs, or PTAs
• Facility-provided polo shirt is required; candidates must supply khaki or black pants
• Orientation consists of 3 shifts on the assigned floor
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
