Requirements

  • Active MO RN license or compact RN license (both Kansas and Missouri licenses, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric behavioral health specialty experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
  • Experience with a 1:12 patient ratio required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • CPI or MANDT patient restraint certification required prior to consideration (MANDT certification is available on-site if not already held)
  • Missouri Children's Division background check (MoVechs) required — a multi-step MO state background check through Missouri's DSS that takes a minimum of 3 weeks to complete and requires active candidate participation
  • 2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year
  • Candidates living within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Trauma Informed Care Training and Zero Suicide Training are required and provided on-site
  • Preferred experience includes treatment settings such as locked units, medical/psych, residential/group home, outpatient, and forensic settings, as well as skills in de-escalation, crisis intervention, behavior management, managing assaultive behavior, psychoeducation, and emergency protocols including CPR, emergent chemical restraints, and physical hold protocols
  • Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
  • The MoVechs background check application must be submitted within 1 week of contract start; candidates must be responsive and complete all required documentation promptly to avoid delays or cancellation
