Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 13-week contract
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 528-bed acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7
• Cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response/Code team activation
• IV therapy and phlebotomy including peripheral line care and management
• Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions required
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, as needed
• Floating within skillset required

Requirements

• Active NY single-state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Recent acute care experience within the past 6 months required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, and non-invasive airway management
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Hospital is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• Specialized services include the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Lipson Cancer Institute, Neuroscience Institute, and advanced surgical programs including vascular, thoracic, and surgical oncology
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this RN position
