Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Telemetry position at a heart hospital in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Located on the 4th floor of a dedicated heart hospital facility in Corpus Christi, TX
• 25-bed Telemetry unit (dept 629) with a staff of 40+
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 1 unit coordinator, 2 PCTs, and 5 RNs; night shift includes 5 RNs and 1 PCT
• Patient ratio is 6:1, occasionally 5:1
• Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, KCI wound vacs, and SCD pumps
• EMR system is Meditech; experience preferred
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry RN experience
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Telemetry experience is preferred; candidates with this background will be prioritized
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Preferred clinical skills include chest tube management, management of non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips, and weight-based heparin drip management
• General med/surg competencies are expected in addition to telemetry-specific skills
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
