Description

American Traveler is seeking a pediatric psychiatric RN for a night shift inpatient position requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a single hospital setting.

Details

• Inpatient pediatric psychiatry unit (Epstein 2) serving children and adolescents ages 3–18 requiring 24-hour psychiatric care
• 30-bed unit with a typical census of 20–25 patients
• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required to other behavioral health areas within the Epstein Units and the Adolescent/Adult Mental Health Unit (AMHU)
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• BLS certification required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this location)
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience at a single hospital or location
• Trauma-informed, patient-centered approach with strong verbal de-escalation skills
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions

Additional Information

• Provides 24-hour inpatient psychiatric nursing care to children and adolescents in a nurturing, non-coercive treatment environment
• Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
