Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Urology/Thoracic Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position at a large academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and IMC/PCU background.
Details
- Surgical/Urology/Thoracic Intermediate Care (IMC) unit within a large academic medical center (500+ bed facility)
- Patients include pre- and post-operative surgical, urology, and thoracic cases requiring bedside surgical care on the unit
- Unit provides multiple levels of care including adult inpatient acute, telemetry, and intermediate care with continuous vital sign monitoring and some advanced monitoring
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Floating required to areas of like skill set within 11 West, including IMC and Med/Surg levels
- Epic EMR — experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — Maryland license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of current RN experience
- IMC or PCU experience required — candidates with PCU experience must be able to demonstrate surgical patient experience
- Dysrhythmia management experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience at a 500+ bed facility required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- Active RN licensure documentation required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides pre- and post-operative bedside surgical care within an IMC-level unit
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month
- Prior travel assignment experience (1–2 assignments) is preferred
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
