Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel contract at a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Clyde, NC, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and active AHA certifications.

Details

• Work in a 17-bed Emergency Department at a 154-bed acute care hospital
• Patient population is primarily geriatric and adult, with some pediatric cases
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric presentations
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• EMR is ED Paragon
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required unless the opposing position is filled by a weekender
• No on-call or float requirements
• 13-week contract
• Self-scheduling managed through the When to Work app

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand
• Required certifications (AHA): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• Minimum ADN education required
• Ability to efficiently and safely manage a team of patients across varying acuity levels
• Ability to recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Hospital is a Duke LifePoint facility featuring orthopedics, spine services, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, behavioral health, and a Chest Pain Center
• Located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville and within driving distance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Navy blue scrubs required; HRMC t-shirts are also acceptable — hoodies are not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
