Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position at a Level 1 Trauma facility, requiring a minimum of one year of nursing experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Neuro Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Patient population includes those with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include neurological assessments, identifying and responding to neurological changes and seizure activity, medication administration, care plan documentation, and patient education
• Delegates tasks to healthcare technicians and validates completion throughout the shift
• Utilizes bedside shift report process, hourly rounding, and patient communication board updates
• Maintains focus on patient safety including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
