Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 1 year of Epic EMR experience and active TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 18:45–07:15 (3x12)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke/TIA patients and higher-acuity med/surg cases
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Common diagnoses include stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Capable of performing peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Medication system: Omnicell
• EMR: Epic (minimum 1 year of experience required)
• Floating to other units and/or campuses within the health system is required based on census needs and demonstrated competencies

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit is highly focused on patient experience
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible; candidates within 50 miles are ineligible
• 13-week contract
