Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care (LTC) night shift position at a skilled nursing facility in Maine, requiring a valid ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Post acute long term care (LTC) and skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting within a regional medical center in Maine
• Available units include a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit (3 East), a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) for short-term skilled nursing and rehab, and a 42-bed long-term care unit (3 West)
• Patient population includes residents requiring long-term placement, Alzheimer's/dementia care, and patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term illnesses or injuries
• Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract
• Floating to other units required as needed

Requirements

• Active ME or compact RN license currently in hand — no licensure hits will be considered
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Strong teamwork, communication, and flexibility skills required
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary care team

• Partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment through direct and indirect care
• Care for Alzheimer's/dementia residents on 3 East requires use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of behavioral expressions as valid communication
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Schedule flexibility required to support 24/7 coverage
• Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
