Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details
- 13-week contract on the Med/Surg unit (3 East) of a hospital in Austin, TX
- 28-bed unit staffed with RNs and PCTs
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment includes Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, and Telemetry monitoring
- EMR: Meditech
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- Hospital experience required
- 3 or more years of nursing experience preferred
- Epilepsy care experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- At least one professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Night shift team consists of 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs per shift
- Navy blue scrubs with the St. David's logo are required
- Candidates who are open to feedback and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership will be the best fit for this unit
