Description

American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 5+ years of experience for a high-volume structural echo lab, with evening shifts Monday through Friday on a 13-week contract.

Details

  • High-volume structural echo lab serving inpatient, ICU, and outpatient populations
  • Procedures include TEE, stress echo, complete TTE, TAVRs, Mitral Clips, MVRs, TVRs, and ASD closures
  • Experience with patients on devices including LVAD, Impella, and ECMO
  • Utilizes Lumason contrast, 3D imaging, and strain imaging
  • Supports an organ recovery center (ORC) and a spine center
  • Schedule is Monday–Friday evenings, 5x8-hour shifts (3:00 PM–11:30 PM)
  • No weekend shifts required
  • On-call required: 1 week of call twice during the 13-week contract
  • Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of echo/cardiac sonography experience required
  • Proficiency with TEE, stress echo, TTE, 3D imaging, strain imaging, and Lumason contrast
  • Experience with structural echo procedures (TAVR, Mitral Clip, MVR, TVR, ASD closure) required
  • Experience scanning patients on LVAD, Impella, and ECMO devices required
  • Active professional licensure required, if applicable
  • Copies of relevant certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Sonographers enter preliminary reports and collaborate closely with cardiologists
  • Holiday coverage is required: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
  • No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the listed shift is firm
  • Full compliance is required prior to the start date

Travelers will be in decontamination every day for their entire shift. Travelers are required to work holidays. Also the facility will likely attempt to change your scheduled shift.
